Gambler’s Rehabilitation Services

The Gambling Rehabilitation Service that the Overseas Chinese Association provides is targeted at problem gamblers who are Chinese, and their families / or significant others, who are affected by the gambler’s problem gambling.    Our services consist of a comprehensive assessment, counselling, support and referrals when necessary. Information is provided to problem gamblers and their families who are affected by the problem gambling. These services are provided at no cost to the client, and they also include educational activities that include members of the community. Our referrals put our clients in contact with a range of holistic and flexible services which meet the needs of problem gamblers within the Chinese community.    The aims of the OCA’s GRS is to help the community understand the impact of problem gambling, reduce isolation and loneliness caused by problem gambling. To help our clients build or rebuild their self-esteem and confidence, while managing their stress levels and anger. This in turn should help the reduce personal and family conflicts for our clients while educating them on how to manage their own finances through the use of tools like achievable goal setting.
